Microcosm

Smaller version of the Macrocosmic Microcosm. This was a work I was commissioned to do some weeks ago. I also added this to my on site gallery to the right.

Macrocosmic Microcosm

These are just a few sections of a piece I've been working on during the semester. The work is much larger than me in height (I'm about 5'8), and the width is probably equal to my height. However, the lines have a weight of .25 mm with only variation in density and pressure. The idea is about relative space/time and how even the smallest intervals will make an overall relationship without using foresight to plan the outcome. I really enjoyed doing this piece, and I find that I am continuing it in my sketchbook just for fun.

50 Creatures in 10 days (Day 4)

This time around I tried to decrease the threat level of the creatures and yet still make them a bit peculiar. Something that might make the viewer still hesitant to want to get too close. Large sizes.

Demon Sketches

From my interest in mythology I've started this idea of making demons or monsters based upon the fears of mankind. I believe that humans create these deities and nightmarish creatures in their own image, rather than the other way around. They are formed from our emotions about life. It's kind of strange to me that this idea spawned from trying to depict scenes of ancient warfare.

Fantastic Odyssey: Landscape Sketches

Brainstorming for a great fantasy setting can be difficult at times. I just don't want to be too cliche. Hopefully, I'll do things that are unexpected with my landscapes more often.

Swirls of Fun

So this was the sketch I did that sent me down a winding path of uncertainty. Swirl after swirl brought me back to what I loved so much as an adolescent: Doodling until my heart was content. This sketch was supposed to be featured in an animation, but I sort of put that on hold for now.
